Long time supporters, celebrities and admirers alike came out to celebrate Desipina's five year anniversary on January 31, 2007. The occasion highlighted the accomplishments Desipina has made over the past 5 years while shedding light on its bright future ahead.

The Desipina 5 Year Gala was held at the Lighthouse International in midtown Manhattan . The evening began with drinks and hors d'oeuvres, served while guests were treated to music by Meetu Chilana and her jazz band. Guests then proceeded to their seats in the main hall, where actors presented short segments of Desipina's Seven.11 Convenience Theatre—an original, provocative, and highly entertaining series where 7 gifted storytellers present plays that are 11 minutes long, all of which are set in convenience stores. The MCs for the evening, Debargo Sanyal and Jackson Loo, are Seven.11 alumni and will be appearing in this year's Seven.11 as well as a second time writer and a third time actor, respectively. Seven.11 opens on March 29 at the Abrons Arts Center.

Announced at the event was the acquisition of Desipina's first short film, "Modern Day Arranged Marriage". The film has been picked up by MTV Networks and will be shown on Logo on March 21, 2007.
