How did you get involved with Barriers?
I was fortunate enough to have been part of the Barriers west coast tour in 2003. We performed two successful runs in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Barriers, I'm proud to say, is the first professional play I was ever cast in. I couldn't be more pleased to reprise the role for the 10th anniversary run. In many ways, returning to Barriers feels like returning home.

How do you prepare for your reprisal of Nabhil?
It was important to me to approach playing the role in this production as an entirely new one. Exploring the dynamics of the Abbas family with a whole new cast has been eye-opening and intense. Also, revisiting these issues after so many years certainly brings a new perspective on issues that certainly haven't disappeared from our landscape.

What have been some of your challenges so far?
The challenges of this production are what make the experience so valuable for me. It's been an incredibly hectic few weeks putting the show together, but I'm so proud and so humbled to be able to perform this play for New York. I'm nervously anticipating its reception!

Can you give us a behind-the-scenes tidbit about Barriers?
Colette Robert, our director, hits me.

Anything else you want to say about the show, about you, about life?
Living and performing in New York has been a lifelong goal for me. As a Los Angeleno, I've been waiting years to come do something exactly like this in the Greatest City in the World. I'm glad it was Barriers that brought me here.
