How did you get involved with Barriers?
Pretty basic, I reckon - got called in to audition and got cast.  But I've known and worked with both Rehana and Colette before so they knew what they were getting into, trust me.

How do you prepare for the role of Shehriar?
I watched the Bollywood movie mentioned in the play about 78 times.

What have been some of your challenges so far?
It's been a very short rehearsal process so we've really had to be on top of our investigations about the characters, their relationships with each other, and in a broader sense, the story we're all trying to bring to light.  That, and it's been difficult to keep a straight face on stage with so many funny people in the cast.

Can you give us a behind-the-scenes tidbit about Barriers?
Well, as mentioned, the entire cast is a bunch of clowns and we consistently crack each other up.  Just ask "Television's Sunkrish Bala" (his official title, FYI).

Anything else you want to say about the show, about you, about life?
The show I think is a beautiful poem to 9/11 and I hope folks will come check it out.  Many thanks.
