Seven.11 Casting Call!

Desipina & Co, NYC's critically acclaimed, six year old theater/film company, is seeking immediate casting submissions for it's flagship show, Seven.11 Convenience Theatre 2008, which uses an ensemble cast in multiple parts in 6 plays and a musical-ette (7 plays, 11 minutes, all set in a convenience store). EQUITY SHOWCASE, approval pending. Sherri Eden Barber, Director.

Auditions will be held Wed. evening 6:00-10:00 (April 23) and then Saturday (April 26th) 12:00-4:00 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Rehearsals begin May 8, 2008 for three weeks (excluding Memorial Day weekend). Tech & Dress is June 2nd with performances beginning June 3rd, 2008 for 16 shows. All performances will be held at the Richmond Shepard Theatre (309 East 26th Street). The seven selected actors will form a company that will perform at least two roles each. ** There is also a musical-ette, so please note if you are a singer (or actor who sings), and if you play any musical instruments. **

  • 2 South Asian men (age range of characters: 20's-50's)
  • 2 South Asian women (teens - 20's/30's)
  • 1 Asian/Pacific Islander male (20's-50's)
  • 1 Asian/Pacific Islander woman (20's-30's)
  • 1 Caucasian male (20's-30's)
Quick check on our casting lingo: By 'South Asian', we mean Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Sri Lankan/etc, and by 'Asian/Pacific Islander', we mean Chinese/Vietnamese/Korean/Filipino/Japanese etc

Also seeking a Stage Manager and ASM for rehearsals and board op. There is a stipend for crew positions.
