After its run at over three dozen film festivals around the world, the Indo-Scottish comedy NINA'S HEAVENLY DELIGHTS releases this weekend in San Francisco at the Landmark Opera Cinema at 601 Van Ness Avenue.

Come and meet director Pratibha Parmar who will do a Q&A with the audience after the 7:20pm show on Saturday, December 8. Support independent South Asian filmmakers by coming out on opening weekend.

Nayikas Dance Theater Co. invites you to the most compelling holiday event this season FASHION CONSCIENCE: A benefit to aid relief work for the survivors of Cyclone Sidr, in Bangladesh.

What: An evening comprising of a couture fashion show featuring Mumbai based Australian designer Rajat Tangri choreographed by Artistic Director Myna Mukherjee; and guest performances of live music and DJ sets by noted S.Asian artists Karsh Kale, Falu, Meetu Chilana and Moziq.

About The Benefit - In an effort to raise awareness & support for the hundreds of thousands displaced and affected in Bangladesh by Cyclone Sidr, the Nayikas Dance Theater Co. presents a benefit concert weaving dance, music, couture fashion & art. Artistic Director, Myna Mukherjee choreographs a fashion show featuring the designs of Mumbai based Australian Rajat Tangri, designer to celebrities such as Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton, Dani Minogue & Bollywood fashionistas Koena Mitra, Tanushree Datta. Dancers Pavithra Vasudevan, Shrooti Singh, Punchali Khanna, Sunita Iqbal, Mai Nemoto & Sharmili Ray add movement and rhythm.

Joining them in solidarity & performance are noted South Asian music artists from the diaspora:
Karsh Kale Producer, composer, percussionist, DJ, singer/songwriter & remix artist whose genre-busting global electronic music has established him as a major force in the Asian Massive movement.
Falu Classically trained Indian vocalist who combines her culture with contemporary American pop/rock music. A Carnegie Hall’s Music Ambassador to NYC, Falu has performed at leading venues like the Lincoln Center for the Dalai Lama, and with international artists like Yo-Yo Ma for the Silk Road Project.
Meetu Chilana (Desipina Member). NYC based singer of pop, soul, jazz and world music who has received widespread acclaim for her award-winning video Lost.
Moziq. Upcoming Indo-rock band that fuses Indian Classical & rock music.
