What's your favorite convenience store snack and why?
Jon Kern: When I was a kid, I occasionally would get a hankering for Funions. Nothing else on the planet is like Funions. That's because Funions were first found inside an asteroid that broke off from Pluto and crashed in Wisconsin in 1952.
How did you come up with your idea for Seven.11?
Jon Kern: My parents liked to go on historical tours for vacations, like Montacello or Mount Vernon. You get to look at recreations of dead people's furniture. It made me wonder what the users of these homes would think if they found me in my t-shirt and jeans chamber pot. Nowadays I walk by the WTC site and see tourists and hustlers hocking merch, and I wonder the same things.
What's your favorite convenience store snack and why?
Vishakan Jeyakumar: In New Zealand (where I am right now) it would be a summer log with an L&P drink. Stateside I'd have to say Dorritos washed down with Orangina (or Coors Light if available - and no law enforcement officials are around :o).
Have you participated in Seven.11 before?
Vishakan Jeyakumar: Yes, I've had two short plays in previous years Seven.11 productions. The
first was 'Raj Against the Machine' in 2004. Then I had a play called Jaffna Mangoes' in last year's production. Not doing any of the hard work (like the producing part) but getting all the
kudos!

How did you come up with your idea for Seven.11?
Micahel Lew: Rehana and I wanted to write a musical together and were riffing on adaptations of Pinnochio. Without giving away too much of "Bikram and Cheekochio," the name "Cheekochio" should show you just how far that riff session devolved. Rehana handled more of the structure and the lyrics, while I handled more of the book and the jokes. But she also revels in the fact that most people will think the dirty jokes came from me when in actuality they are almost wholly hers.
How did you get started writing plays?
Rehana Mirza:We had this old manual typewriter, and I loved pulling it out and playing with the cloth ink ribbon. Way old school. I think a play came out of that somehow.
Have you participated in Seven.11 before?
Micahel Lew: I've never worked on Seven.11 before but I've seen two of the four previous productions. The most notable difference thus far has been the writing development leading up to rehearsals. One of my writer's groups - Youngblood - has a heavy production component but they focus more on frequent production opportunities than on long-term development of scripts. It's been nice having a long pre-rehearsal period to refine the text.

Rehana Mirza: Slurpees!!!!
