Thelma De CastroHow did you come up with your idea for Seven.11?

Thelma De Castro: "Bachelor Moon" is based on a relationship with a friend of mine who's disappeared from my life.

What's your favorite convenience store snack and why?

Thelma De Castro: I happen to be a little pregnant so I require cherry Slurpees, Jolly Ranchers and sour peach rings to keep me from hurling!

Debargo SanyalHow did you get started writing plays?

Debargo Sanyal: My first play was called "Little David and The Firefly". I was in first grade. The play was twenty seconds long. It was about a firefly who was having trouble lighting himself up. so, a little boy named David decided to help him out by lighting a match and setting the firefly on fire. the firefly died, of course. and David was sad. and that's how little david learned to never again play with matches.

Have you participated in Seven.11 before?

Debargo Sanyal: Cast member in 2003 & 2005. Writer in 2005. fave memory is singing/dancing/schmacting in "Soonderella".

How did you come up with your idea for Seven.11?

Janet Kim: I like comic books. And I'd been working on this really heavy project before, so I wanted to have some fun. I like cartoons too - ok, my inner geek is coming out. I should stop before I start talking about Magic or Battlestar Galactica or something.

What's your favorite convenience store snack and why?

Janet Kim: Slim Jims. Cause they're DAMN GOOD. It's like everything fatty and greasy and nasty for you in stick form. I saw a 99% fat free beef stick once, it seemed so wrong. Also ranch-flavored corn-nuts. Mmmm!

How did you come up with your idea for Seven.11?

Sujit Chawla: I always liked the idea of breaking that wall between reality and fiction. I love having actors talk to the audience and include them in what's happening. My idea was born from that simple notion.

Have you participated in Seven.11 before?

Sujit Chawla: I was a writer for Seven.11 a few years ago. It was an odd experience only because you have an idea in your head but as a writer, once you're done writing, you're pretty much done with your end of the show. The director takes over and can do whatever he or she feels is best. It was really hard letting go and not continually wanting to give my two cents. But when the show came on, I was blown away. It was a hundred times better than I could have imagined and I now understand what my role is and I accept it, because I know the director and the actors aren't going to mess around with what I wrote, they'll only make it better.

Tune in next week to read more shenanigans from Jon Kern, Michael Lew, Rehana Mirza, and Vishakan Jeyakumar in next week's newsletter....
